Hi everybody! I’m Marc Lubman, and I’m part of the afternoon session of TRIP@TU2018. I’m a rising junior at Council Rock High School North, and I joined TRIP because I absolutely love science and doing biological research. I find biology to be endlessly interesting and I spend most of my time reading about all of the new discoveries and developments in biological research and medicine, such as all of the mind-blowing new discoveries related to gene editing. I also hope to pursue biology in the future once I go to college, and my goal is to become a research scientist. Outside of school and the lab, I am a huge music fan. I can play quite a variety of instruments (although not always very well), like the piano, guitar, drums, and didgeridoo. Drums are my instrument of choice, and I’ve gotta say that I think there are few activities more rewarding than playing them. I honestly enjoy all genres of music, but some of my favorite bands are Ween, Tool, and Alice In Chains. I also love to ski, and do so as much as humanly possible during the winter. I am a huge fan of the outdoors, and I hike and rock climb whenever I have the time to. I also love spending time with my older brother and sister, who are sources of inspiration and some of the funniest people I know. Even though I’ve only been doing TRIP for 1 week thus far, I am finding that I totally love it! I just love doing any and all activities in the lab, designing experiments, and finding out amazing things through results. I am hugely impressed by just how much we can find out from studying flies, and how similar they are to humans. I can’t wait to design and carry out my own independent project!
