Endy Ascencio-MirandaEndy Ascencio-Miranda joined TRIP@WTHS’23 as a senior at William Tennent High School. Endy Loves to spend his time playing God of War: Ragnarok and watching Vinland Saga. For Endy’s experiment he decided to see the effects of Brown Noise to improve memory.

Ishani BansalIshani Bansal joined TRIP@WTHS’23 as a sophomore at Upper Merion Area High School. Ishani loves to sleep, watch anime, and cook. She loves math and science and is involved in many clubs at her school, including the Newspaper Club, Math Team, Planet Protectors, Science Olympiad, and DECA. Additionally, she helped create an organization, UM Finance, to increase financial literacy awareness for teenagers. Ishani hopes to one day pursue a career in a science-related field and share her knowledge with others. For her project, Ishani tested the effects of different concentrations of turmeric on fly health through development.

Jackson BarlowJackson Barlow joined TRIP@WTHS’23 as a senior at William Tennent High School. Jackson enjoys partaking in the Wind Ensemble and William Tennent Jazz Ensemble where he plays French horn and trumpet. Outside of music, Jackson is enthralled by the concepts of biology and hands-on lab research which led him to enroll in Genetics & Biotechnology, AP Biology, and then eventually becoming a TA for AP Biology. For his TRIP project, Jackson studied the effects of increased levels of caffeine on cognitive function and memory.

Venkat DevabhakthuniVenkat Devabhakthuni joined TRIP as a junior at Downingtown East High School. Venkat is a huge fan of the Eagles, loves eating new food, doing robotics, and playing soccer. In his free time Venkat loves to play basketball with his friends or relax while playing some video games. For his TRIP project, Venkat studied the impacts of high doses of amphetamines, like Adderall, on cognitive function.

Grace JiangGrace Jiang joined TRIP@WTHS’23 as a junior at Unionville High School. In her free time, Grace loves coffee runs, the beach with friends, and painting. She also does dance and runs track. She is interested in public health research and its role in solving global issues. For her TRIP project, she tested the effects of noise pollution exposure on development.

Daniel LeeDaniel Lee joined TRIP as a junior at Wissahickon High School. In his free time, he loves playing tennis, biking outdoors, and spending time with friends. He also enjoys studying biology and, in the future, hopes to be more involved with lab research. For his TRIP project, Daniel focused on how sleep deprivation affects social avoidance and risk-taking.

Anne PallozziAnne Pallozzi joined TRIP@WTHS’23 as a sophomore at William Tennent High School. In her free time, Anne’s hobbies include volunteering at a cat adoption center, playing the viola, spinning flags in her school’s marching band, reading, and being involved in her community. Ever since she can remember, Anne has been obsessed with science and hopes to someday be a part of the team that finds a way to cure genetic diseases! For her TRIP Project, Anne chose to focus on the effects of BPA on fly development and female fertility, and how those results changed through multiple generations.

Rohan RamprasadRohan Ramprasad joined TRIP as a junior at The Downingtown S.T.E.M Academy. Rohan loves to eat Chipotle’s “Burrito Bowls” and play basketball with his friends. In school, his favorite classes are Biology and Economics, and hopes to one day work with both disciplines as a Public Health professional. Outside of school, Rohan also works as an EMT. For his TRIP project, he tested if Bilberry Extract can ameliorate the negative effects of induced heat shock on Dorspohia melanogaster health, as measured by negative geotaxis.

Arushi VigneshArushi Vignesh joined TRIP@WTHS’23 as a sophomore at Conestoga High School. She moved to Pennsylvania from India when she was 10 years old. She enjoys playing badminton and recently developed an interest in playing chess. She is also interested in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience and hopes to pursue a career related to that in the future. For her TRIP project, she tested the effect of curcumin, a polyphenol found in turmeric, on inflammation caused by a high fat diet.
