Hello everyone! My name is Sukhneet, but you can call me Nita, and I am a current senior at Downingtown STEM Academy! I got involved in TRIP because I wanted to feed my passion for research and science in a community that fosters curiosity and cooperation. I personally love the laboratory environment, and spending a few hours a week doing that is simply a dream come true! In school, I'm very involved in politics and activism as president of Junior State of America club, and I also take pride in school spirit as a student ambassador. Outside of school, I love to give back to my community by volunteering for my local senior center and my local hospital. Due to the pandemic, however, I haven't been able to give back as much as I wanted to, so a group of my friends and I created a new nonprofit pending organization where we distribute free hot meals to those in need. While we serve our community, we also advocate for our religion, Sikhism, by providing details about our pillars and values. If you want to learn more, you can check out our Instagram (@prabhkiseva) or email me ([email protected]) with any questions you have! Some of the more fun things I like to do in my free time is drawing, singing, baking, and hanging out with my friends. I love trying new things and I'm super open to finding new hobbies and challenging myself to explore new communities as well. Before the pandemic, I used to do foil fencing which took up the majority of my time, and it was definitely a really nice feeling being a part of a diverse yet competitive environment. I haven't been able to go back to practice since, however, I'm trying my best to maintain my form at home.
