Hello! My name is Masa M. Murry, and yes I have been given the name "Triple M" or "m & m" by my friends. I am a sophomore at Neshaminy High School (which would be the fourth school I've been in the span of 3 years). I moved to America in the end of the summer in 2017 from Saudi Arabia, surprising a lot of people for being able to speak English and Arabic fluently, with basic understanding of French. I applied to the TRIP Initiative because I wanted to do something out of school related to research, as the schools that I have been to do not really teach us what it would be like to work in a lab. This internship is truly a great opportunity for me to make my own experiment, learn how to deal with all the hardships in the process and understand how to analyze my results for presenting them. It’s going to be an experience.
Some fun facts about me: I love playing Badminton, and I wish my school offered more chances of playing it, and I also really enjoy playing basketball. Some other hobbies of mine are drawing, reading books (my favorites are East of Eden, The Great Gatsby and A Thousand Splendid Suns), and watching TV shows (the best ones in my opinion are Dark, Mindhunter and Avatar: The Last Air bender). My favorite subjects are all the sciences, and I am highly interested in pursuing a career in genome editing or neurosurgery.
