Carmen BonnerCarmen Bonner, a senior at Cheltenham High School, joined TRIP because of her love for any and all sciences, with an affinity for microbiology and forensics. She also enjoys crocheting, swimming, and caring for her plants and pet snake. For her TRIP project, she explored the effects of probiotic and prebiotic supplements on health of the organism and its gut microbiome.

Samhita GantiSamhita Ganti joined TRIP Initiative at WTHS’25 as a junior at the Downingtown STEM Academy. Samhita has always loved the field of science, as she aspires for her future to be within the lab. She loves to listen to music, relax with her friends, and try new food. For her TRIP independent project, she tested the effects of high sugar diets and Vitamin E on the pain sensitivity and health of flies.

Jessica JosephJessica Joseph joined TRIP@WTHS’25 as a junior at Conestoga High School. At school, she is an editor of The Folio and is part of the Peer Mediation team. She enjoys photography, dancing, and painting still life. With a strong sense of empathy and gratitude, she aspires to give back to her community. Jessica's passion in the scientific field, ignited through the potential of cellular biology and research, has led her to TRIP. For her TRIP project, she contributed to the research community, while linking gut and mental health by analyzing the effect of Inulin on fecal droppings and anxiety.

Nuha MaryamNuha Maryam joined TRIP as a sophomore at Conestoga High School. A passionate STEM enthusiast, she is especially interested in biomedical research and hopes to pursue an MD-PhD. Nuha enjoys reading, hiking, and biking, and is an active community volunteer through the Girl Scouts and service-focused school clubs. At TRIP, she investigated the potential of curcumin-based therapies in improving symptoms of sleep deprivation.

Mitchell MorinMitchell Morin joined TRIP as a junior at William Tennent High School. Mitchell developed a passion for computer science and was proud to be the software lead of the William Tennent robotics team. His interest in solving problems and analyzing data naturally drew him toward research in STEM. His independent research project at TRIP explores how a high cholesterol diet and fenugreek supplementation impact larval memory.

Danny NguyenDanny Nguyen joined TRIP@WTHS’25 as a junior at Julia R. Masterman High School. Danny is a fan of horror movies because of the thrill and excitement. To relax, Danny loves reading inspirational books like The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. Danny’s research interests are in chemistry and computational biology. For his TRIP project, he sought to determine whether red ginseng can reduce nicotine withdrawal symptoms.

Mia PerezMia Perez joined TRIP as a junior at The Creative and Performing Art High School. Mia moved to the US from Argentina at the age of 8. She is passionate about classical music, loves the violin, and enjoys learning about biology. For her TRIP project, she examined the possibility of diet counteracting the effects of sleep deprivation on memory in teens.

Hanaa SaleemHanaa Saleem joined TRIP as a junior at the Downingtown STEM Academy. She enjoys photography, traveling, and hanging out with her siblings in her free time. She also loves anything Disney-themed, and a fun fact is that her birthday is on Halloween! Hanaa has always been curious about how the brain works, which sparked her interest in studying neurological disorders. For her TRIP project, her research explored how vitamin B6 can mitigate the effects of neurodegeneration to better understand of potential nutritional strategies for preventing or slowing neurodegenerative diseases.

Sabina TulendinovaSabina Tulendinova joined TRIP@WTHS’25 as a sophomore at William Tennent High School. She is actively involved in several honor societies, serves as a tutoring coordinator, and is a part of Multilingual Volunteers. Outside of academics, Sabina dances competitively in regional competitions and plays the violin. She is passionate about science and healthcare, and hopes to pursue a career that combines both. Through her TRIP project, Sabina explored how artificial sweeteners and sugar affect energy and locomotor activity in fruit flies.
